Purpose:
This tool allows you to estimate how changes to levies and values impact the full Effective Tax on real property.
Note the following:
Reductions for Non-Business, Owner Occupancy and Homestead credits are
not
estimated by this tool.
The resulting Tax Estimate is based on Assessed Value. To calculate Assessed Value, take the Market Value and multiply by 35%.
To Use This Tool:
(1) Enter a Tax Rate in mills.
(2) Enter a Market Value in whole dollars. Note the default value is the value most recently certified for taxation.
(3) Click the [Calculate Tax] button to refresh the annual Tax Estimate.
Example:
Tax Rate = 1.500 mills; Market Value=$200,000; Tax Estimate= $105.00
